2011 Household Waste Charges

Dublin City Council provides a refuse and waste collection service to city residents, as follows:

 

 

  • Grey wheelie bin: For non-recyclable rubbish and other waste
  • Green wheelie bin: For dry recycable items such as cardboard, steel, tin cans and plastic bottles
  • Brown wheelie bin: For organic waste, e.g. food and light garden waste
  • Eurobin: For all waste.  These large skip-like bins are often used for apartment buildings.

 

The waste charges for householders in the Dublin City Council Region in 2011 are as follows:

Annual Standing charges:

240 litre bin: €100.00
140 litre bin: €80.00 

Collection Charges:

The collection charges have remained the same as in 2010.

Grey wheelie bin (240 litre): €6.00 per lift.
Small Grey wheelie bin (140 litre): €3.60 per lift.
Green wheelie bin: Free. (Note: This service is provided to customers who are up to date with their waste charges)
Brown wheelie bin: €2.00 per lift.

 

Waste charges must be paid but are tax deductible.


Bag collections

Tags for bag collections can be purchased in most newsagents and post offices in areas where the bag collection exists. They are available in books of three and cost €9.

 

 

Waiver

The Waiver Scheme in respect of the Household Waste Collection and Disposal Charge has is as follows:

 

In 2011, only the Standing Charge will be waived when a Waiver is granted.

 

The Standing Charge in 2011 will be:

  • € 100 per annum in respect of households with a 240 litre Grey Bin
  • € 80 per annum in respect of households with a 140-litre Grey Bin

 

All Lift Charges must be paid.

 

Households that are granted a Waiver will be billed therefore for all Grey and Brown Wheeled Bin lifts presented at a rate of:

  • € 6.00 per 240 litre Grey Bin
  • € 3.60 per 140 litre Grey Bin
  • € 2.00 per Brown Bin.

 

The first Bills for 2011 will issue in April. A Waiver Application form will be sent with your Bill.
