South Dublin Recycling Centre Charges

Waste charges at the Ballymount Recycling Centre.

Charges apply to only a selection of waste items identified in the following list:

  • Household Hazardous Waste (Paint, Detergents, Pesticide containers, etc, in properly-labelled containers ONLY.)
  • Scrap Metal
  • Timber
  • Green Garden Waste (Domestic customers only)
  • General Household Waste
  • Bulky Household Items (Furniture)


Members of the public will be charged according to vehicle size, and only cars, car van/estate cars, and cars with 1.2m x 1.2m, single-axle trailers will be allowed entrance.

The charges for people carrying items above (not including Green Waste) are detailed as follows:

For vehicles carrying green waste only the prices are as follows:

No commercial vehicles (or "commerical-sized" vehicles, eg, Hiace vans, Transit vans, etc) will be accepted. 

In addition to the above items, the Recycling Centre accepts a list of items free of charge including:

  • Electrical appliances
  • Computer Equipment
  • White Goods (Fridges, Washing Machines, etc)
  • Waste Car Oil (Not cooking oil)
  • Paper
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Aluminium Beverage Cans
  • Plastic Bottles
  • Textiles
  • Batteries (domestic and car)

 

The following wastes are not accepted at the facility

  • Commerical Waste
  • DIY Waste
  • Liquid Waste
  • Cooking Oil
  • Non-Household Hazardous Waste (except for batteries and waste car oil)
  • Tyres
  • NO UNLABELLED CONTAINERS OF HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE WILL BE ACCEPTED!


Complaints Procedure

If a member of the public wishes to make a complaint, he or she should contact South Dublin County Council's Environmental Services Department, on 4149000 Ext 4248.
